How it works
Four steps at the counter
A Western Union transfer is handled in person by a cashier, so you can ask what the fee is and what your recipient gets before you commit to anything.

Bring your ID and the amount
Come to the counter with valid photo identification and the money you want to send, in cash or on a debit card.

Give us the recipient details
We need your recipient's full name exactly as it appears on their ID, the destination country, and how they want to receive it.

Confirm the rate and fee
You see the exchange rate, the transfer fee and the exact amount your recipient will receive before anything is sent.

Send and share the tracking number
Keep your receipt and pass the tracking number to your recipient so they can collect or track the transfer.

What you need to bring
Money transfer is a regulated service, so identification is not optional — but with these four things on you the whole transaction takes minutes.
Names must match the recipient's identification exactly. A middle name missing or a spelling swapped is the single most common reason a transfer is held up on collection.
Valid photo ID
A passport, UK/EU photo driving licence or national identity card. Originals only — no photocopies or screenshots.
Your recipient's details
Full legal name as printed on their ID, the country they are in, and their city or payout location.
The funds
Cash or a debit card. Credit cards are accepted in store, though charges may apply.
A contact number
Yours and, ideally, your recipient’s — it makes tracking and any follow-up far quicker.
